Kuwait city: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), participated in a GCC forum for the elderly in celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, hosted by the State of Kuwait. The forum aimed to enhance collaboration among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the domain of elderly care.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation to the forum was led by HE MSDF’s Assistant Undersecretary for Family Affairs, Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassim Al-Thani. The event featured a comprehensive review of the experiences of GCC countries in elderly care. Participants engaged in discussions that highlighted prominent global practices aimed at improving the quality of life for the elderly.
Additionally, a closed session was convened to deliberate on the creation of a joint Gulf indicator focused on the quality of life for the elderly. This session underscored the commitment of GCC countries to developing cohesive strategies for enhancing elderly care across the region.
