Kuwait City: Represented by the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA), the State of Qatar is participating in the 61st meeting of the technical committee of civil retirement and social insurance agencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The meeting is taking place at the headquarters of the Public Institution for Social Security of the State of Kuwait, from May 5-7, 2025.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting will address several main topics, including the work plan of the committee of heads of agencies for the period 2026-2030, determining the unified system for insurance protection, and comparing the Gulf retirement systems. Additionally, discussions will cover electronic linkage initiatives, training and qualification, unified awareness, and related international initiatives.
Participants will examine statistical indicators and mechanisms for developing education and targeting employees within the unified system. They will also explore ways to support scientific research and professional recognition through the Scientific Research Award and the honoring of leading figures in the retirement and social insurance sector, along with studying the benefits offered to retirees.
The technical committee of civil retirement and social insurance agencies in the GCC countries meeting is held periodically. It serves as a coordination platform that contributes to shaping shared visions and formulating essential technical measures that are submitted to the meeting of heads of agencies for appropriate decision-making.
Through this participation, the authority reaffirms its commitment to strengthening joint Gulf cooperation in the areas of social protection and civil retirement and developing insurance policies in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 to build a sustainable retirement system that enhances the social and economic stability of citizens.
