Qatar Engages in Key GCC Commerce and Industry Meetings


Kuwait City: The State of Qatar participated today in the 60th preparatory meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Commerce and the 46th meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Industry of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held in the State of Kuwait. The meetings addressed various topics related to commerce and industry within the GCC region.



According to Qatar News Agency, the State of Qatar was represented by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki. The meetings saw participation from Their Excellencies the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Commerce and Industry from GCC countries, along with the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the General Secretariat of the GCC.



The agenda of the meetings included discussions on several topics of joint interest, with recommendations being prepared for submission to Their Excellencies the Ministers of Commerce and Industry of the GCC countries. These recommendations aim to guide future actions and policies in upcoming ministerial meetings.



In addition to these meetings, HE Al Malki took part in the first regular session of 2025 of the Executive Board of the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC). This session, held concurrently with the preparatory meetings, focused on topics outlined in the draft agenda, with recommendations formulated for further consideration.
