Qatar Engages in World Cities Summit 2026 in Singapore

Singapore: The State of Qatar is actively participating in the 10th edition of the World Cities Summit 2026, held in Singapore from June 14 to 16 under the theme "Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Act Now." The summit convenes leaders, policymakers, and experts worldwide to address sustainable urban development challenges and solutions.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar's delegation, led by Eng. Jamal Matar Al Nuaimi, Director General of Doha Municipality, and Mansour Ajran Al Buainain, Director General of Al Rayyan Municipality, is engaging in discussions on global experiences, initiatives, and smart solutions. These discussions focus on enhancing municipal services, city management efficiency, and sustainability to align with Qatar's vision for sustainable and renewable cities for future generations.

The Qatari delegation also participated in the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize events, which honor cities excelling in urban planning, innovation, sustainability, and quality of life. The World Cities Summit is organized by the Center for Liveable Cities and Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority, serving as a platform for leaders, experts, and academics to exchange expertise, showcase urban solutions, and build partnerships for sustainable and resilient cities.

Qatar's involvement aligns with the Ministry of Municipality's efforts to support the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030, based on Qatar National Vision 2030. The focus is on international cooperation, adopting best practices in sustainable urban development and smart cities, supporting digital transformation, environmental sustainability, quality of life enhancement, and municipal service improvement.
