Qatar Foundation Concludes Successful “Mukayyamna” Summer Camp with 600 Students

Doha: Qatar Foundation's Pre University Education has successfully concluded the summer edition of its "Mukayyamna" program, an initiative that brought together over 600 students from both Qatar Foundation (QF) schools and various other schools across the country. The camp provided a platform for students to engage in activities that combined learning, interaction, and entertainment.

According to Qatar News Agency, the "Mukayyamna" camp is an annual event designed to empower students beyond traditional classroom settings. It offers programs aimed at developing skills in areas such as sports, sustainability, arts, music, and leadership. Rodha Al-Saadi, Head of Community Engagement at the Student Affairs and Community Engagement department under Qatar Foundation's Pre-University Education, commented on the program's design, emphasizing the balance between fun and learning. The activities were crafted to enhance leadership, communication, physical activity, critical thinking, teamwork, and self-discipline, with some activities incorporating financial literacy to promote academic development through non-traditional methods.

Al-Saadi highlighted the commitment to experiential learning, ensuring each activity is tied to clear learning outcomes and practical life skills. Regular assessments are conducted to measure the acquisition of these skills and their relevance to students' future academic and personal goals. The camp places students in scenarios that require decision-making, responsibility, and handling real-life challenges, fostering independence and resilience. Additionally, the program includes awareness and community initiatives to encourage students to engage with global issues and think beyond personal boundaries.

While the camp primarily targets QF students, Al-Saadi noted that deliberate efforts were made to involve students from other schools across Qatar. This approach aimed to broaden the social impact of the program, promote inclusivity, and encourage the exchange of educational experiences among a diverse group of students.
