Qatar: Qatar National Library has announced a month-long program of workshops, family activities, and community events for August, targeting aspiring entrepreneurs, librarians, artists, children, and lifelong learners.
According to Qatar News Agency, the program's highlights include a startup workshop on August 15 with Qatar Development Bank, which will cover topics such as entrepreneurship, market validation, and early-stage funding. Additionally, the seventh Summer Library Camp will run from August 2 until the end of the month, offering STEM, arts, crafts, and recreational activities for children and teenagers.
The library will also host an IFLA regional workshop on August 16, focusing on innovation in library services and the use of artificial intelligence. This will be followed by the monthly Art Majlis gathering for artists on August 18 and the open Chess for Everyone event on August 20.
On August 25, three events will focus on education, inclusion, and cultural exchange: "You Are the First Teacher," aimed at preparing parents and caregivers to help children aged 3-6 transition to school; "Together on the Journey," which supports families of people with disabilities; and "Cultural Mosaic," encouraging participants to share traditions and personal experiences.
A family storytelling event with Wifaq Family Consulting Center is scheduled for August 27. This event will explore how family stories can strengthen relationships and preserve heritage through expert discussions and interactive activities.
The program also introduces a new children's Story Time series featuring authors reading their own books. The series will conclude on August 29 with "Book Talk," where author Ruby Kapoor will discuss her book "Let's Talk About Life," focusing on personal growth, mindfulness, and gratitude.
