Doha: On the Arab front, Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted Qatar condemnation, alongside a number of Arab and Islamic countries, of statements made by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip. It stressed that displacement is not a political option, but a crime and a flagrant violation of the rules of international law and international humanitarian law.
According to Qatar News Agency, the State of Qatar's position is clear and firm: no to the displacement of Palestinians, no to uprooting them from their land, and no to any plan aimed at eliminating the Palestinian cause. It emphasized that the only path to a just and lasting peace begins with enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate and inalienable rights.
The newspaper concluded its editorial by stressing that Qatar's rejection of plans to displace Palestinians from Gaza is a natural extension of its principled policy, which places respect for international law and support for Palestinian rights at the forefront of its positions and diplomatic efforts.
In turn, Al-Watan newspaper noted that the issue of displacing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip has returned to the forefront of the political scene in Israel, through a plan put forward by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. This came in response to statements made by Ben-Gvir and Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Strip.
The newspaper noted that the foreign ministers of the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Turkiye strongly condemned the Israeli statements concerning the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Strip, as well as the proposed plans and mechanisms aimed at forcibly removing Palestinians from their land.
The newspaper stressed that these statements constitute a flagrant violation of the principles of international law and international humanitarian law, as well as a direct threat to the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, undermining prospects for peace and stability in the region.
The newspaper concluded by stressing that the positions repeatedly expressed by the extremist Israeli minister Ben-Gvir and others like him undermine prospects for peace and constitute a departure from the international consensus, as well as the decisions of the International Court of Justice and the United Nations Security Council concerning the protection of Palestinian civilians and enabling them, in the Gaza Strip, to return to their homes throughout the Strip.
Meanwhile, the Peninsula newspaper said that the opening of registration for Hajj 1448 AH well ahead of the pilgrimage season reflects Qatar growing emphasis on careful planning, digital efficiency and the wellbeing of its pilgrims. With registration running from September 20 to October 20, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is giving prospective pilgrims ample time to understand the requirements and complete medical procedures.
The early start is particularly significant because Hajj is a complex undertaking involving coordination between pilgrims, authorized campaigns and authorities in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The decision to begin preparations early allows Hajj operators to secure accommodation, transportation, catering and other services well in advance.
The newspaper concluded by noting that the Ministry guidance materials, awareness videos and hotline are important components of the initiative. Prospective pilgrims should be encouraged to rely on official information and carefully complete their applications, particularly when adding accompanying persons, to avoid preventable complications later.
