Cairo:The State of Qatar took part in the launch of the 14th Arab Cultural Development Report, titled 'Arab Food and Water Security: Accumulated Crises and Promising Initiatives,' held at the League of Arab States headquarters.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar was represented by Amna Abdulrahman Al Sulaiti from its Permanent Representative to the Arab League.

During the opening session, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy highlighted the interconnectedness of culture and development, emphasizing the need for public awareness and informed policies to manage resources effectively. Fahmy stressed that water and food security are crucial components of Arab national security and should not be exploited as tools of war or political leverage.

Fahmy also mentioned the development of an Arab early warning and foresight system by the General Secretariat. This system aims to link water, food, and climate security indicators with political, economic, social, and security dimensions.

He called for greater Arab integration, urging the utilization of the region's capabilities to build a joint capacity that can effectively address emerging risks. Fahmy emphasized that the report should be a starting point for implementing practical proposals to enhance joint Arab action.
