Qatar Rail Concludes Successful Back-to-School Event and Resumes School Visits Program

Doha: Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) has successfully concluded the second edition of the Back-to-School event, held at Sport City Station on the Doha Metro's Gold Line from 19 August to 2 September 2025. In conjunction with the start of the new academic year, the company also announced the resumption of its school visits program across the Doha Metro network.

According to Qatar News Agency, over two weeks, the Back-to-School 2025 event saw strong public engagement and remarkable turnout, especially from families and children. The event offered exclusive promotions on school supplies through dedicated booths and provided free access to various interactive and entertainment activities.

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the new 365-Day metropass, offering unlimited travel for one year across both the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram networks for QAR 990. An exclusive promotion was launched for event visitors, allowing them to obtain early-bird offer vouchers for the metropass with a 20 percent discount.

This year, the event aimed to create an interactive space that reinforced the role of metro stations as community hubs. Qatar Rail's collaboration with its commercial partners enhanced the visitor experience and increased public turnout. The company is committed to transforming stations into vibrant social destinations and looks forward to building partnerships for future success.

Additionally, Qatar Rail announced the resumption of the Doha Metro school visits program with the start of the new academic year. This initiative, part of its corporate social responsibility strategy, aims to familiarize students with the metro network and its operations while highlighting its sustainability contributions.

As part of the school visits program, Qatari engineers from Qatar Rail will accompany students, providing insights into their roles and encouraging students to consider careers in the railway sector. Students will learn about the Metro's travel cards, train carriage categories, and safety guidelines, as well as first and last mile services like metrolink, metroexpress, and Park and Ride facilities.

During tours, students will visit Msheireb Station, the main interchange station of the Doha Metro, to explore the control and command room. They will learn how the station monitors passenger flows to ensure smooth operations and gain insights into emergency response protocols.

The school visits program is crucial in promoting public transport cultures among students and encouraging them to adopt the metro for daily commutes while supporting environmental preservation efforts. Schools interested in participating can coordinate with Qatar Rail's Communication and Public Relations Department.
