Qatar Real Estate Market Sees Increase in Sales Value in 39th Week of 2026

Doha:Qatar: The real estate market in Qatar experienced notable improvements in sales value during the 39th week of 2026, as reported by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat).

According to Qatar News Agency, data from Aqarat revealed that the total value of sales transactions reached QAR 654.4 million, marking an increase of 21.5 percent compared to the previous week and a 3.7 percent rise from the same period last year. However, the number of transactions decreased, with 133 completed, indicating a decline of 5 percent week over week and 9.5 percent year over year.

Sales were distributed across various property types. Villas accounted for QAR 291.7 million, representing 44.6 percent of the total sales value. Vacant land followed with QAR 268.3 million, or 41 percent, and buildings contributed QAR 65.5 million, or 10 percent. Other property types made up QAR 28.9 million, or 4.4 percent of the sales.

Al Rayyan Municipality led in real estate transactions, with sales totaling QAR 215.9 million. This was followed by Doha Municipality with QAR 208.1 million and Al Daayen Municipality with QAR 108.2 million.

The report also highlighted an increase in mortgage transactions, totaling 29 for the week, with a cumulative value of QAR 978.92 million. This represented an 18.9 percent increase from the previous week and a significant 166.5 percent rise compared to the previous year. The majority of mortgage values were attributed to towers, which accounted for QAR 845 million, or 84.8 percent, followed by villas at QAR 92 million, or 9.2 percent, and vacant land at QAR 35 million, or 3.5 percent.

In terms of mortgage value, Doha Municipality was at the forefront with QAR 878 million, followed by Al Rayyan Municipality with QAR 66 million and Al Daayen Municipality with QAR 19 million.

On the rental side, Aqarat reported 499 rental contracts worth a total of QAR 6.07 million. The rental value saw a decrease of 44.4 percent week over week and 73.1 percent year over year. The number of contracts also fell by 54.8 percent week over week and 69.5 percent year over year. Villas accounted for QAR 2.50 million, or 41.2 percent of the rental value, with apartments contributing QAR 2.45 million, or 40.4 percent, and commercial showrooms QAR 0.53 million, or 8.7 percent. Other property types accounted for QAR 0.59 million, or 9.7 percent.

Doha Municipality ranked highest in rental value at QAR 2.6 million, followed by Al Rayyan Municipality at QAR 2.2 million and Al Wakrah Municipality at QAR 0.4 million.
