Hanoi:Qatar SC has mutually ended the contract of Spanish coach Marquez Lopez after a disappointing start to the Qatar Stars League season.
According to Qatar News Agency, the club has appointed U-23 coach Rashid Al Kubaisi to take charge of the first team. Qatar SC has struggled in the league, accumulating only two points from five matches, with two draws and three losses, placing them second-bottom in the standings.
Last season, Lopez guided Qatar SC to a sixth-place finish and also led Qatar's national team to victory in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
