Doha: The Qatar Social and Cultural Center for the Blind (QSCCB) has unveiled a new program focused on the Holy Quran, in partnership with the department of persons with disabilities programs at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs. The initiative will see sessions conducted weekly, every Wednesday, at the Center following the Maghrib prayer, with guidance provided by Sheikh Amro Al Maliki.
According to Qatar News Agency, the program is part of the Center's mission to foster a love for the Holy Quran among its members, allowing them to benefit from communal gatherings and recitation sessions. Faisal Al Kooheji, Chairman of the QSCCB, highlighted that the initiative aligns with the Center's commitment to utilizing the Quran's teachings in positively influencing the youth.
The QSCCB aims to offer a religious environment that strengthens the bond between the younger generation and the Holy Quran, Al Kooheji added. Since its establishment in 2004, the Center has been affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, serving the blind and individuals with low vision across genders through various cultural initiatives.
