Qatar to Be Guest of Honor at 40th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts

Amman: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Culture, will be the guest of honor at the 40th edition of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Held under the theme "A Legacy That Endures... Generations Meet," the festival will run from July 22 to August 2.

According to Qatar News Agency, the State of Qatar will participate with a cultural and artistic program that reflects its cultural identity and national heritage. This program aims to present visitors with a comprehensive image of Qatar's cultural landscape. Officials stated that this participation is part of efforts to enhance cultural cooperation and partnership between Qatar and Jordan.

The involvement also showcases the Ministry of Culture's commitment to expanding Qatari culture's presence at Arab cultural events. It aims to highlight Qatar's literary, artistic, and heritage achievements, promoting cultural exchange and building communication bridges among peoples.

Qatar will establish an official pavilion at the festival, offering an immersive cultural experience through exhibits that showcase key aspects of the country's cultural identity. The pavilion will also emphasize Qatar's intangible cultural heritage.

The program will feature poetry evenings organized by the Qatar Poetry Center, with poets from the Mathayel Nabati Poetry Competition, and traditional performances by the Qatari folkloric band "Al Jubailat," featuring artist Omar Bou Saqr. The participation will conclude with a musical concert by artists Ali Abdul Sattar and Mansoor Almuhannadi.

Qatar's role as the festival's guest of honor reflects its growing cultural stature in the Arab world. It embodies Qatar's commitment to fostering cultural dialogue and ties among peoples, presenting both traditional and contemporary Qatari cultural forms, and enhancing their presence on the regional scene, as stated by the Ministry of Culture.
