Doha: The draw for the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U17 World Championship, which Doha will host from August 19 to 29, has placed the Qatar team in Pool A alongside teams from Tunisia, France, and Venezuela.
According to Qatar News Agency, the tournament will feature 20 teams representing various continents. Pool B will see Italy, Cuba, India, and Romania compete, while Pool C will include Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Poland. Pool D consists of teams from Spain, Egypt, Bulgaria, and Turkiye, and Pool E comprises Iran, Chinese Taipei, Pakistan, and Algeria.
In the tournament's format, each team is scheduled to play three matches in the preliminary round. The top 16 teams in the overall standings will advance to the Round of 16, while the four lowest-ranked teams will be eliminated.
The competition will progress through knockout stages, culminating in the semifinals and finals, as well as a match to determine third place. Matches will be held at Aspire Sports Hall and Al Arabi Sports Club Hall, with excitement building for the inaugural Volleyball Boys' U17 World Championship hosted by Qatar.
