Doha: Doha will host the Lebanon-Yemen match in the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Qualifiers on June 4 at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium, the Local Organizing Committee for Football Events announced on Monday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the match was originally scheduled to be played in Beirut on March 31, before Lebanon's home fixture against Yemen was moved to neutral ground in Qatar. The match is being jointly organized by the Lebanese Football Association and the Local Organizing Committee for Football Events.
It will be the second time Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium hosts Lebanon during their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 qualifying campaign, following a 2-0 win over Bhutan on October 9.
The stadium also recently hosted Yemen in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar qualifiers, where they played out a 4-4 draw with Comoros on November 26, 2025.
Lebanon and Yemen will meet for the second time in the current qualifying campaign after their previous encounter on June 10, 2025, ended in a goalless draw. The two sides are battling for the remaining qualification spot from Group E, with the winner advancing to the finals alongside the Republic of Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.
The 19th edition of the AFC Asian Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia from January 7 to February 5, 2027.
Lebanon has previously appeared in the tournament three times: as hosts in 2000 and through qualification in the 2019 edition in the UAE and the 2023 edition in Qatar. Yemen made its first-ever AFC Asian Cup appearance in the 2019 edition.
The Lebanon-Yemen fixture is one of several international matches being staged in Qatar, underscoring global confidence in the country's ability to deliver major sporting events to the highest standards.
