Abu dhabi: The 35th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is set to take place from September 13 to 18 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center. The event will see participation from 95 countries, including Qatar, and will host dozens of writers, thinkers, and academics.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, which organizes the fair, announced that the event will follow the theme "Turn the Page, Read the World." The fair's programs will feature nearly 1,500 events focusing on three main areas: global culture and intercultural dialogue, innovation and shaping the future, and arts and live cultural experiences.
The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center has highlighted that Balkan Culture will be honored as the guest of honor, and the fair will pay tribute to the renowned scholar Al Khalil bin Ahmed Al Farahidi, who has been selected as the pivotal figure of the event. The exhibition marks a significant milestone in the evolution of a national cultural project that has established itself as a global platform for knowledge production, fostering civilizational dialogue and envisioning the future of cultural and creative industries.
For the first time since its inception, the expo will begin with an opening ceremony that showcases its 35-year journey, including a theatrical performance inspired by Al Farahidi. Additionally, the fair will honor the winners of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award 2026.
