Qatar: Qatar's under-20 national football team defeated Austria's Kapfenberger 7-0 in a friendly match on Friday as part of their ongoing training camp in Slovenia. The victory showcased the team's preparation and strategy for upcoming competitions.
According to Qatar News Agency, the training camp is a crucial part of Qatar's preparations for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers. These qualifiers are set to take place from August 25 to September 6, offering qualification spots for the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup finals in China.
The draw for the qualifiers, conducted in May, placed Qatar in Group E, where they will compete against Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Hong Kong, China. All matches in this group will be hosted in Doha.
In the competition, 32 teams are divided into eight groups. The winners of each group, along with the seven best second-placed teams, will secure a spot in the final tournament, joining hosts China.
