Muscat: QatarDebate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth in Oman and the Oman Debates Center, has announced the opening of registration for the 3rd edition of the Asian Arabic Debating Championship. This event is scheduled to take place in Muscat, Oman, from October 28 to November 1, 2025.
According to Qatar News Agency, the QatarDebate Center has issued a statement indicating that the organizing committee is now accepting registrations from university teams across Asian countries interested in participating. The center encourages these teams to register via its official website, www.qatardebate.org.
The championship aims to unite elite university teams from various Arab and Asian nations within a competitive platform, all while utilizing classical Arabic. This initiative is designed to enhance dialogue and critical thinking skills among university students. It aspires to contribute to the development of a generation capable of expressing themselves with confidence and clarity, equipped to discuss global issues objectively and respectfully.
Furthermore, the championship seeks to reinforce Arab identity and consolidate values of civilized dialogue and cultural communication among peoples. It aims to open up avenues for knowledge exchange and experience-building between Arabic-speaking and non-Arabic-speaking students. This supports the development of public speaking skills and empowers young people to actively contribute to building a brighter future for their communities and the entire Asia.
The event is the outcome of a strategic collaboration between the QatarDebate Center, recognized globally for its expertise in the art of debate, and the Omani Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, which prioritizes youth empowerment and cultural dialogue. The Oman Debates Center also plays a crucial role in advancing this art form within the Sultanate.
