QatarEnergy Secures 17-Year LNG Supply Deal with India’s GSPC


Doha: Qatar Energy signed a 17-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) for the supply of up to 1 million tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG to the Republic of India. Pursuant to the terms of the SPA, the contracted LNG volumes will be delivered ex-ship to terminals in India, starting in 2026, Qatar Energy said in a press release.



According to Qatar News Agency, HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of Qatar Energy Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi expressed satisfaction in extending the partnership with GSPC through this long-term SPA, emphasizing Qatar Energy’s commitment to supporting India’s energy needs. His Excellency Minister Al Kaabi noted that the collaboration reinforces the strong ties between the companies and contributes to India’s energy security and transition to a cleaner energy mix. Qatar Energy is dedicated to providing safe and reliable LNG supplies to aid India in its energy pursuits.



The SPA between Qatar Energy and GSPC builds on their initial long-term LNG supply agreement signed in 2019. It symbolizes the ongoing confidence and trust between the two organizations and highlights their shared vision for a sustainable energy future and enhanced bilateral cooperation.
