Qatari and Kuwaiti Foreign Ministers Urge Dialogue for Strait of Hormuz Security

Doha: The Qatari and Kuwaiti foreign ministers emphasized the necessity for all parties to engage in dialogue to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. This was highlighted in a recent telephone conversation between Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait. The discussion focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing regional developments, with particular attention to diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to reduce tensions and promote security and stability. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, during the call, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy among all parties. They emphasized the implementation of agreements within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which includes ensuring t he freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. This commitment aims to maintain regional security, preserve existing achievements, and bolster stability. Additionally, the Qatari Prime Minister reiterated Qatar's full support for all initiatives aimed at defusing tensions and achieving a comprehensive agreement that fosters sustainable peace in the region.
