This move has been widely condemned as a defiance of international legitimacy and an assault on peace prospects. The decision has sparked international condemnation, with a broad coalition of Arab and Islamic nations, including Qatar, denouncing the act as a violation of international law and UN Security Council resolutions. The Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation have reiterated that Israel holds no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory, citing the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion on the illegality of Israel’s occupation since 1967.
