Doha: Qatari newspaper editorials on Sunday focused on a range of topics related to local affairs and foreign policy.
According to Qatar News Agency, on the local front, the newspapers emphasized the Ministry of Municipality’s strategy, which is structured around three main priorities: excellence in services and digital transformation using AI, enhancing food security, and improving quality of life.
Al-Watan newspaper elaborated on the Ministry of Municipality’s strategy, highlighting its focus on accelerating and facilitating service delivery through digital transformation and AI, enhancing food security by managing resources efficiently and maintaining strict food safety standards, and improving quality of life by expanding green spaces and developing public facilities. The newspaper also referred to a meeting held by HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah with the ministry’s institutional excellence team, which focused on enhancing institutional performance and aligning with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
On the foreign policy front, Al-Sharq newspaper reported on the joint announcement by Qatar and Saudi Arabia to provide financial support to public sector employees in Syria for three months. The newspaper emphasized that this move is rooted in the fraternal ties and historical relations between the two nations and their commitment to supporting Syria’s stability and alleviating humanitarian suffering. The editorial noted the previous contributions of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, including financial aid to settle Syria’s arrears with the World Bank Group, which helped initiate the recovery of Syria’s economy.
Al-Sharq concluded by affirming that the efforts of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, along with their coordination with the international community, demonstrate their commitment to supporting development opportunities and enhancing economic stability in Syria, contributing to a more prosperous future for the Syrian people.
