Qatari Newspapers Address Global Investment and Middle East Conflicts

Doha:The Peninsula highlighted the ongoing World Investment Forum, emphasizing its occurrence during a rapidly evolving global investment landscape. The forum, hosted by Qatar and the UN Trade and Development, is themed "Investing in the Future" and serves as a platform for discussing the impact of geopolitical uncertainty, technological disruption, and fragmented trade on investment directions.

According to Qatar News Agency, the forum features over 70 sessions exploring sectors such as artificial intelligence, critical minerals, and the space economy, which are increasingly linked to national competitiveness and economic resilience. The Peninsula noted the growing importance of regional economic integration and diversification in the Gulf, pointing out vulnerabilities in global supply chains like those seen in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Peninsula also remarked on the significance of Qatar hosting the forum again, 14 years after the previous event, indicating the evolution of global investment conversations and the increasing interconnectedness of the world economy.

On the topic of Arab affairs, Al-Watan criticized the ongoing violence in the Gaza Strip despite a ceasefire agreement and highlighted the significant casualties reported by Gaza's Ministry of Health. The paper expressed dismay at the international community's lack of action during the UN General Assembly session.

Al-Watan reported that the Council of Presidents of the UN General Assembly gathered in New York, urging the international body to take a more active role in addressing Middle Eastern and European crises.

In a separate editorial, Al-Sharq condemned Israel's actions in Syrian territory, which it views as violations of international law and a threat to regional security. The newspaper called for collective international efforts to ensure respect for Syria's sovereignty and prevent the normalization of such aggressions.
