Doha: Qatari newspapers focused their editorials today on the deep-rooted and historical fraternal relations between the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt along with the sustained momentum in bilateral relations, particularly in light of the seventh session of the Joint Higher Committee between the two countries, held in the Egyptian city of El Alamein.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers highlighted the importance of the session's outcomes and the resulting agreements and memoranda of understanding, which covered numerous fields alongside the establishment of the HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani Hospital in Sohag Governorate, considered an extension of the developmental and humanitarian cooperation between the two nations.
The editorials touched on the coordination of positions between both countries regarding regional developments, most notably the Palestinian cause and the situation in the Gaza Strip, and keenness on prioritizing diplomatic solutions and dialogue to enhance security and stability in the region.

The newspaper added that the convening of the seventh session of the Joint Higher Committee between the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Egyptian city of El Alamein marked a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral cooperation and opening broader horizons for joint action.
The newspaper noted that the outcomes of the session, in which the Qatari side was chaired by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, while that of Egypt was headed by HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Badr Abdelatty, affirm that relations between Doha and Cairo are not short-term relationships, dictated by circumstances or imposed by current developments, but rather an extension of a well-established history of constructive cooperation, consultation, and coordination at the bilateral, Arab, and international levels, particularly regarding regional issues and challenges.
The daily added that the areas of partnership are expanding to include vital sectors, from the economy and investment to health, agriculture, food security, and development cooperation. It pointed out that the grant agreement signed between the Qatar Fund for Development and the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population regarding the establishment of the HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani Hospital in Sohag Governorate embodies the humanitarian and developmental dimension of the relationship.

The newspaper further said that the Palestinian issue has been a shared focus of attention for both countries on a regional level, stemming from their firm agreement on the necessity of reviving the peace process based on the two-state solution.
