Qatari Newspapers Highlight Strategic Partnership with United States and Condemn Israeli Actions in Lebanon

Doha: Qatari newspapers on Sunday addressed the strategic partnership between Qatar and the United States, focusing on mutual interests and sustainable growth, along with Qatar's satisfaction with the progress in negotiations facilitated by Pakistani mediation for a peace agreement between the US and Iran. The editorials also highlighted the ongoing Israeli occupation's actions in Lebanon and the efforts of Qatar's Ministry of Municipality to implement projects for improving quality of life, service excellence, and environmental sustainability, alongside Qatar's debut in the 24 hours of Le Mans race in France.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya newspaper emphasized the Qatari-US partnership as a model for balanced and fruitful international relations that adapt to global changes and achieve common goals for both nations. The economic visions of Qatar and the US complement each other, creating a strategic partnership focused on common interests and sustainable growth. The relationship is described as a solid economic alliance that evolves with political will and an investment-friendly environment, turning global challenges into cooperation opportunities in various areas, including advanced technology, AI, innovation, defense industries, and aviation.

Al-Raya noted the significant increase in trade exchange indicators, reflecting mutual trust between business sectors in both countries. The partnership's diversity offers flexibility to meet new digital economy demands, supporting national plans to diversify income and build a knowledge-based economy. Qatari investments in the US are crucial for infrastructure, real estate, healthcare, and technology, creating jobs and promoting growth. Conversely, US companies are expanding in Qatar, benefiting from legislative facilities, a secure environment, and free zones that attract global companies to regional markets.

The newspaper concluded that strategic dialogues and economic meetings are vital for exploring new investment and cooperation opportunities between public and private sectors. This ongoing collaboration opens doors for entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises, enhancing supply chains and competitiveness.

In a separate editorial, Al-Watan newspaper criticized Israeli actions in Lebanon, noting that Israel wants the Lebanese army to control all Lebanese territory and disarm illegal weapons to restore peace. The paper described this as a false narrative, highlighting that Israeli forces have killed and wounded 46 Lebanese soldiers in 92 days. Recent attacks resulted in the deaths of three more soldiers in southern Lebanon.

Al-Watan urged for a global boycott of the Netanyahu government, asserting that isolation and blacklisting could lead to Netanyahu's arrest and trial for war crimes. The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant against him on Nov. 21, 2024, for war crimes and crimes against humanity during aggression against Gaza. The newspaper stressed that the 125 member states of the ICC are legally required to arrest Netanyahu if he enters their territories, hoping this action will prevent further chaos and instability. The lack of accountability for Israeli crimes signifies a failure of the international community and its laws.
