Cairo: The Qatari International Search and Rescue Group recently completed a training and advisory visit to Egypt, aimed at bolstering the Egyptian Civil Protection Team's readiness. This initiative is part of a broader technical support program designed to enhance the team's capabilities in disaster response.
According to Qatar News Agency, this visit marks the sixth and final phase of a comprehensive program that prepares the Egyptian team for international accreditation by the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG), under the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The accreditation process is slated for next August.
The visit featured a simulated earthquake exercise, replicating realistic devastation scenarios to ensure the Egyptian team's preparedness. This collaboration underscores Qatar's dedication to supporting sister nations by transferring knowledge and building capacity according to international best practices in disaster response.
