Doha: The Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE), has launched the second phase of interviews for students nominated to join the Government Scholarship Programme for the Private Sector.
According to Qatar News Agency, this phase brings together leading institutions including Qatar Airways, Ahli Bank, QTerminals, Qatar Stock Exchange, Qatar Insurance Company, and the Qatar Investment Authority. The initiative aims to align academic specialisations with the real needs of the labour market while enabling Qatari students to build strong professional pathways in strategic private sector companies.
The programme is part of a broader national strategy to expand scholarship opportunities beyond the public sector and strengthen Qatar's human capital in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030. For the first time, it channels government scholarships into private sector fields, ensuring graduates receive both high-quality academic education and practical training before being employed in partner institutions.
These interviews are designed to assess academic readiness, skills, commitment, and compatibility with organisational needs, ensuring candidates are prepared to make a meaningful contribution to nationalisation objectives. The programme prioritises sectors critical to Qatar's future growth, including financial services, logistics, information technology, healthcare, education, tourism, food and agriculture, manufacturing industries, and construction.
The Ministry of Labour underlined that the Government Scholarship Programme is not only an educational track but also a cornerstone of nationalisation policy, empowering young Qataris to take on leadership roles in private sector institutions. It provides a practical bridge between education and employment, thereby enhancing the sustainability and competitiveness of the national workforce.
By working closely with leading private sector firms, the initiative reflects the government's commitment to developing an effective, highly productive workforce equipped to contribute to sustainable development and future economic progress.
