Doha: In their editorials published Monday, Qatari newspapers highlighted the State of Qatar's ongoing efforts to support the Sudanese people amid the ongoing armed conflict.
According to Qatar News Agency, these efforts include sending urgent relief and humanitarian aid to those displaced from Al Fasher and neighboring areas, including Al Dabba in the Northern State of Sudan.
The newspapers emphasized that the situation in Sudan, particularly in Al Fasher, is a significant humanitarian crisis. Defenseless civilians are bearing the brunt of the conflict, and the Sudanese people have long endured the consequences of such wars. The State of Qatar has consistently advocated for a political solution to Sudan's crises, emphasizing that warfare and destruction will not lead to nation-building or the resolution of crises.
In addition to its efforts in Sudan, Qatar is actively involved in attempting to establish a ceasefire in Gaza, despite the complexities of the situation there. The aim is to define a mandate for the presence of an international force in the region.
Al-Arab newspaper highlighted Qatar's dispatch of urgent relief and humanitarian aid to Al Fasher and neighboring areas, stating that these actions represent a continuation of Qatar's efforts to support the Sudanese people. The newspaper explained that the "Qatar Al Khair Camp," launched by Qatar Charity with support from Qatar Fund for Development, is providing housing, health, and education services for displaced people from Al Fasher to the Al Dabba area for three months.
Al-Arab also praised Qatar's swift response to the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, noting initiatives such as the distribution of food parcels, daily meals, shelter kits, and the establishment of mobile health clinics and a temporary school.
Al-Watan newspaper noted that Qatar places humanitarian aid at the heart of its foreign policy, aiming to promote stability and build international partnerships. It highlighted Qatar's unique position in leveraging its neutral stance and resources to promote humanitarian protection in politically unstable regions.
The newspaper concluded that Qatar's support for Sudan is part of its ongoing efforts to alleviate suffering and strengthen humanitarian response worldwide.
