Aichi-Nagoya:Qatar The Qatari delegation achieved notable success at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with five medals added today, bringing their total to 12 medals, comprising three gold, five silver, and four bronze. According to Qatar News Agency, the day began with Qatar's shooting team winning a silver medal in the men's team trap event. Shooters Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Saeed Hamad Abu Sharib, and Angelo Scalzone contributed to this achievement. The men's relay team also secured a silver medal in the 4x400-meter relay, while Abubaker Abdalla earned a bronze in the 800 meters. In men's handball, Qatar settled for a silver medal after a narrow 32-33 defeat to Bahrain, ending their streak of three consecutive golds in previous Asian Games. Additionally, Wissal Yakhlef claimed a bronze medal in the women's over-85kg weightlifting category. Qatar's shooting team, particularly Mohammed Al Rumaihi and Saeed Hamad Abu Sharib, expressed their satisfaction with the silver medal in the team trap compet ition, emphasizing the high level of competition and their focus throughout the event. In other events, Qatar's volleyball team finished second in their group after a tightly contested match against India, while the padel team is set to begin their campaign against Kuwait.
