Doha: Qatari newspapers recently shed light on significant developments within the country's legal and infrastructure sectors. Al-Watan newspaper emphasized Qatar's ongoing efforts to create an effective justice system by revising existing laws and introducing new legislation aimed at streamlining litigation processes and enforcing judgments across various domains.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Shura Council session held on Monday featured HE Minister of Justice Ibrahim bin Ali bin Issa Al Hassan Al Mohannadi, along with ministry specialists, who presented the Ministry of Justice's strategic initiatives. The Minister provided a detailed overview of the Strategic Plan 2025-2030, highlighting achievements across legal and service sectors and discussing measures to enhance the business environment.
In its editorial, Al-Watan concluded that justice is a critical component of societal progress and civilizational development. Effective justice should be based on fair and efficient law enforcement, ensuring that individuals receive their rightful entitlements, a commitment that Qatar is keen to uphold.
Meanwhile, The Peninsula focused on the transformative aspects of the Shura Council session, noting that the Ministry of Justice is preparing for a digital future. The Ministry's strategic plan includes automating legal agreements, enhancing international cooperation services, and developing digital platforms like the Qatar Legal Portal (Al-Meezan) and the Smart Legal Assistant (Shoor).
The Peninsula highlighted the ministry's efforts in the real estate sector, citing over 114,000 documentation transactions and more than 43,000 real estate registrations completed in 2025, many of which were conducted electronically. This underscores the ministry's commitment to digital transformation and its impact on productivity.
On a separate note, Al-Arab newspaper reported that the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced the tendering and awarding of 20 new projects, valued at approximately QR 11.5 billion. These projects aim to advance infrastructure, buildings, drainage, and public facilities in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Ashghal has awarded 12 projects worth over QR 4.5 billion, including key developments like the expansion of Hamad General Hospital and a new post office in Al Thumama. Al-Arab highlighted Ashghal's focus on involving Qatari companies, underlining its role in boosting the local private sector's capabilities and supporting the national economy.
