Qatar’s Strategic Management of Crisis Demonstrates Efficiency and Competence

Doha: HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi emphasized Qatar’s adept handling of the current crisis, highlighting the decision to allow a 30 percent return to in-person work. This decision stemmed from an assessment by security authorities confirming a stable and secure environment conducive to a partial return to the workplace.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Minister underlined that this decision signifies the government’s capability to shift from managing a crisis to gradually resuming normal operations. The approach ensures productivity levels remain constant while maintaining the safety of all personnel involved. Despite the challenges, productivity was not hampered during remote work due to the implementation of tailored policies and flexible work models.

The Minister elaborated that the gradual return to physical offices was carefully planned with a priority on employee safety and adaptability to various security situations. This transition marks a return to the standard work model at full capacity, with ongoing evaluations to adapt to changing circumstances.

Qatar’s early investment in digital infrastructure has empowered government entities to maintain service delivery seamlessly through electronic platforms. This strategic foresight has enabled continued provision of advanced digital services, such as the Ministry of Interior’s Metrash application, which offers over 480 services, and other ministries involved in essential sectors like commerce, industry, and security.

The Civil Defense Council’s assessments led to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s shift to remote learning during the crisis, ensuring educational continuity through digital platforms. The decision to resume in-person learning was also meticulously evaluated, confirming the safety and readiness of schools to welcome students back.

The Minister outlined national priorities aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, focusing on sustainable economic growth, diversification, and food security. Decision-making during the crisis is centrally managed by the Civil Defense Council, with evaluations from various entities before Cabinet approval.

HE the Minister commended the readiness of state institutions, including the Qatar Armed Forces and security agencies, for their significant role in maintaining stability. He concluded by recognizing the community’s adherence to official guidelines, reflecting the collective responsibility and awareness of the Qatari people.
