Doha: In their editorials on Tuesday, Qatari newspapers spotlighted significant local and international issues, notably emphasizing Qatar’s unwavering support for Yemen and its endorsement of a recent agreement in Syria. The discussions were anchored on the recent statement by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, who, during a meeting with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Yemen Dr. Shaya Al Zindani, reaffirmed Qatar’s sustained commitment to aiding Yemen in achieving security, stability, and development.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Watan daily underscored Qatar’s persistent assistance to the Yemeni people through development and humanitarian aid. The newspaper reiterated Qatar’s steadfast stance on maintaining Yemen’s unity, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as its dedication to safeguarding the Yemeni people and fulfilling their aspirations for security and development. Furthermore, Qatar’s efforts to support the United Nations and its agencies in mitigating the humanitarian crisis in Yemen were highlighted, with calls for international support to bolster Yemen’s economy and infrastructure.
In parallel, Al-Raya newspaper focused on Qatar’s reception of the Syrian presidency’s announcement regarding the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces into state institutions. The editorial emphasized that this agreement constitutes a pivotal move towards enhancing civil peace, security, and stability in Syria.
