Doha: Al Raya newspaper confirmed that the State of Qatar has spared no effort in supporting Gazans’ resilience and treating their wounds. Qatar has been involved both individually and in collaboration with allies to provide medical care for those injured in the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Raya highlighted various initiatives launched by Qatar to support Gazans, including the initiative by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to treat 1,500 Palestinians from Gaza. The newspaper emphasized that Qatar has become a leader in community solidarity with Palestine and Gaza in particular, driven by the bonds of brotherhood, blood, and humanity. The recent visit of HE Colombian President Gustavo Petro to the residence of Palestinian patients receiving treatment in Qatar was noted. During his visit, he reviewed the comprehensive services provided, which include health services, psychological support, training, rehabilitation, education, and more. HE President Petro praised Qatar’s significant efforts in supporting the Palestinians and stressed the need for enhanced cooperation and joint humanitarian efforts to rebuild Gaza.
The newspaper stated that Qatar has continued to provide humanitarian, relief, medical, and treatment services inside Gaza during and after the aggression. This commitment is part of Qatar’s long-standing position towards its Palestinian brethren, and the country will continue to play its historical role in supporting them. Qatar’s support began many years before the recent aggression, through numerous pioneering initiatives. Qatar has consistently highlighted the Palestinian cause in every international forum, recognizing that the ongoing Palestinian tragedy, now over 76 years old, is a central issue in Qatari foreign policy.
Al Raya asserted that the State of Qatar will remain a strong supporter of the Palestinians against aggression, occupation, and settlers’ crimes. Qatar will employ all its capabilities to support the Palestinians and end the occupation by calling on the international community to recognize the Palestinian state and grant it full United Nations membership. Qatar’s response from the first day of the aggression was robust, with diplomatic, relief, and humanitarian efforts. Qatar continues to push for a prisoner exchange deal to be completed.
