Doha: HE Chairman of the Qatar Chamber (QC), Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani, underscored that the strong partnership between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) and QC is a cornerstone in supporting the private sector, empowering it to play a key role in driving economic growth.
According to Qatar News Agency, this assertion was made during a meeting held at the QC’s premises, attended by HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani, HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the MOCI Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, and several Qatari businessmen. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between MOCI and QC, addressing challenges faced by the private sector, and exploring appropriate solutions.
HE the Chairman of QC expressed his gratitude to the Minister for visiting the Chamber as a representative of the Qatari private sector. He praised the Ministry’s pivotal role in shaping economic policies and improving the investment environment for the benefit of the Qatari private sector. The Ministry’s efforts to boost cooperation between the public and private sectors are seen as crucial in achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030 and promoting the investment climate in Qatar.
He noted that the policies adopted by the ministry have created an attractive investment environment, drawing in both local and foreign investments. He emphasized the significance of the visit, highlighting the Minister’s commitment to the private sector and the Ministry’s dedication to enhancing public-private sector cooperation. This collaboration is crucial in achieving the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 and promoting a flourishing business and investment environment.
His Excellency underscored the Ministry’s commitment, in cooperation with the Chamber, to addressing any challenges investors may encounter, thereby enhancing companies’ capacity to expand and develop across various sectors. HE Sheikh Khalifa lauded the Ministry’s ongoing support of the private sector by providing facilitation and exemptions that help companies overcome challenges and boost their competitiveness.
Furthermore, he affirmed that continued cooperation between both sides will pave the way for new avenues for growth and prosperity. He assured that QC will continue to work closely with the Ministry to achieve the state’s economic vision and enhance its position as a leading hub for investment and trade, both regionally and globally.
