Doha: Qatar Fund For Development (QFFD) has announced the provision of over $667 million in aid for the year 2025, benefitting more than 45 countries. This substantial allocation has resulted in numerous partnerships and significant progress in advancing the global development and humanitarian agenda.
According to Qatar News Agency, the distribution of the 2025 aid includes nearly $62.1 million for the healthcare sector, over $74.1 million for education, approximately $314.9 million for economic development, and more than $141.1 million for humanitarian aid. These funds are part of QFFD's commitment to delivering comprehensive and sustainable solutions to address global needs in a rapidly evolving world.
QFFD emphasized its role in meeting urgent needs and supporting long-term recovery initiatives throughout 2025. The organization focused on enhancing resilience capabilities by mobilizing innovative financial resources and establishing influential partnerships. Looking to 2026, QFFD remains dedicated to promoting international solidarity, multilateral cooperation, and shared prosperity, aiming to create a fair and sustainable world where individuals live dignified lives.
HE Chairperson of QFFD, Sheikh Thani bin Hamad Al-Thani, highlighted the importance of international development cooperation in maintaining global stability and prosperity. He noted that QFFD prioritizes long-term humanitarian impacts through concessional financing, international advocacy, and institutional collaboration, focusing on the most vulnerable communities.
Throughout 2025, QFFD expanded its partnerships with governments, development banks, charitable institutions, UN entities, civil society organizations, and the private sector. These collaborations harmonized resources and expertise, enhancing the scope and sustainability of development and humanitarian interventions.
QFFD's efforts targeted over 30 million individuals worldwide, forging over 90% of deals and partnerships in 2025 and providing commitments exceeding $2 billion. The organization adhered to a rapid, principle-based approach for contingency situations, delivering life-saving aid and supporting early recovery and resilience-building efforts.
Additionally, QFFD played a significant role in international dialogues and platforms, amplifying Qatar's influence in shaping development and humanitarian agendas.
