Doha: Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has entered into a grant agreement with Qatar Charity (QC) to allocate USD 11.9 million for constructing houses and villages for families affected by floods in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This initiative will last for 18 months and aims to provide safe and durable housing solutions to support the recovery of these communities.
According to Qatar News Agency, the initiative is part of the State of Qatar’s wider humanitarian commitment, aligning with a USD 25 million pledge made in 2023 to assist Pakistan’s flood recovery efforts. The agreement between QFFD and QC aims to ensure that communities affected by the floods have access to secure housing, enabling them to rebuild their lives and withstand future calamities, thereby ensuring long-term stability and resilience.

By providing secure housing, the aim is to restore stability and security to those impacted by the devastating floods in Pakistan. Al Kaabi highlighted the ongoing global climate crisis and affirmed QFFD’s mission to bring peace, hope, and justice to communities in need worldwide.
Chief Global Programs Officer at Qatar Charity, Nawaf Abdulla Al Hammadi, expressed pride in partnering with QFFD in this vital initiative. He emphasized that the project is about more than just providing shelter; it aims to restore dignity, stability, and hope to affected families. Through sustainable housing solutions, the initiative seeks to address immediate needs while empowering communities with resilience and long-term recovery, thus creating a lasting humanitarian impact.
