Doha: A delegation from the Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at Qatar Chamber participated in several meetings and visits during the Singapore Convention Week on Mediation 2025. The delegation was led by HE QICCA's Vice Chairman Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al-Thani.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatar Chamber announced that the delegation met with Martina Polasek, Secretary-General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in Washington. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and developing relations between QICCA and ICSID. The meeting also explored the possibility of exchanging expertise to improve arbitration practices and broaden international cooperation in this field.
The delegation also visited the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and engaged in talks with its management team on future cooperation and experience exchange. The visit featured a presentation on SIAC's leading practices in managing arbitration cases and resolving commercial disputes through alternative means, which is considered an international model in this sector.
QICCA's participation aligns with its strategy to strengthen international partnerships and leverage global best practices in arbitration and mediation. This initiative aims to enhance QICCA's capabilities and solidify its position as a leading institution in dispute resolution in the region.
The Singapore Convention Week on Mediation has been a prominent event in Singapore since 2019, focusing on dispute resolution, arbitration, mediation, and litigation.
