Cairo: The Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at Qatar Chamber held two specialised seminars in cooperation with leading law firms, on the sidelines of the “Egyptian Arbitration Days 2025” (EAD) conference, which was recently held in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Center’s delegation was headed by QICCA’s Vice Chairman, HE Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al-Thani and included Ibrahim Shahbek, Secretary-General and Khaled Al Garhe, QICCA’s Legal Counselor. In statements, HE Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al-Thani said that QICCA’s participation marks an important step reflecting its keenness to maintain an active presence in international legal forums and to foster dialogue on arbitration issues of regional and global relevance.
For his part, Ibrahim Shahbek said that QICCA will hold more external seminars and events during the coming period, pointing out that the two seminars witnessed great attendance and interaction. The first seminar was titled “Third Party Financing: Risks, Gains, and the Future of Arbitration”, while the second was titled “Arbitration in the Gulf Region”.
In addition, QICCA participated in a third session entitled “Arbitration and Investment,” which addressed the most prominent aspects related to the relationship between arbitration and investment, and discussed ways to enhance the role of arbitration in attracting and protecting foreign investments.
The “Egyptian Arbitration Days” conference brought together a distinguished group of experts, practitioners, and thought leaders in the field of arbitration to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities. The event featured a series of in-depth discussion sessions and interactive panels.
