QM Presents Rich Programme of Cultural, Engaging Activities this October


Doha: This October, Qatar Museums (QM) offers a vibrant lineup of cultural and creative experiences for all ages.



According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement on Tuesday, QM clarified that the program features hands-on workshops in sculpture at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, storytelling, heritage tours, and family activities at the National Museum of Qatar and the Museum of Islamic Art, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Toddlers can explore sensory food play at Dadu, while teens and adults can develop photography and design skills.



Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art is set to present a panel discussion as part of Mental Health Awareness month, alongside workshops ranging from crafting wooden sculptures to drawing self-portraits with the help of a mirror. On October 5, 2025, the Shaping Culture- Shape, Sand, and Create workshop invites participants to create their own wooden sculptures, inspired by collections from Mathaf. A panel discussion titled “Unmasking the Mind – The Healing Power of Art, Sound and Story” is scheduled for October 8, 2025, exploring the therapeutic potential of creative expression.



A Colourful Creation Workshop will take place on October 15 and October 18, providing a collaborative outdoor environment for creativity. In a long-term initiative, the Fashion Forward: Upcycling Style Workshop, beginning on October 27, 2025, encourages teens to transform everyday materials into wearable art, culminating in a fashion show.



Art lessons with Ismail Azzam are scheduled every Sunday and Tuesday throughout October 2025, focusing on portraiture techniques using various mediums. Tasweer invites participants to a masterclass on visual narratives through documentary photography, led by Yoriyas Yassine Alaoui Ismaili, with sessions on October 24 and 25, 2025.



The National Museum of Qatar offers a range of family-friendly activities, including storytelling, drop-in activities, and guided tours on October 5, 2025, with an emphasis on Qatar’s pearl diving heritage. Storytelling sessions and family tours are available throughout the month, with a special session on October 9, 2025, and family exploration tours on October 18, 2025.



The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) provides monthly storytelling sessions, a family day, and a workshop focusing on the significance of water in Islamic art, with activities scheduled for October 6, 11, and 27, 2025.



On October 1, 2025, Dadu – Qatar’s Children’s Museum – hosts a Food Play workshop for children aged 2 to 4 years, designed to stimulate curiosity and expand food preferences through sensory exploration.



M7 – Qatar Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Design, Fashion, and Technology – will host The Art of Bloom Workshop on October 18, 2025, featuring vase painting and floral arrangement sessions.



This year marks the 20th anniversary of Qatar Museums, celebrated through the Evolution Nation campaign, highlighting Qatar’s cultural journey over the past 50 years since the founding of the National Museum of Qatar.
