QNA Launches Specialized Course in News Podcasts for Employees

Doha: Qatar News Agency (QNA) launched on Sunday at QNA Training Halls a new training course on news podcasts as part of a series of courses and programs organized by the agency with the aim of raising the efficiency of its employees and enhancing their skills in various media and journalistic fields.

According to Qatar News Agency, the three-day course is presented by QNA Fawzy Ghabara, a media specialist at QNA, and it is attended by employees from various government institutions, in addition to several employees from different QNA departments and sections. The course aims to develop the participants’ skills in writing and producing news podcasts, and to understand the differences between podcasts, broadcasts, and vodcasts. It also aims to train the participants on different types of podcasts, such as dialogue, analysis, and news reports, as well as how to write scripts appropriate for this type of media.

The course focuses on strategies for attracting listeners and delivering media messages effectively and with high quality. It also includes training participants on how to prepare and conduct podcast interviews, as it teaches them techniques for selecting appropriate guests, formulating open-ended questions that encourage discussion, managing conversations in a natural and engaging manner, and how to move smoothly between topics to keep listeners engaged throughout the episode.

The course highlights the importance of podcasts as a modern media outlet that caters to changing listening patterns, especially among young audiences, and their role in enriching media content and providing flexible, 24/7 news sources.

In March 2023, QNA opened ‘QNA Training Halls,’ equipped with the latest training methods, as part of its vision to enhance the capabilities of Qatari media professionals and create a generation capable of leading the future of national media.
