QRDI Council Wraps Up Successful Innovation Day at Qatar Economic Forum

Doha: Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council hosted its third consecutive Innovation Day on the concluding day of the 5th Qatar Economic Forum. Innovation Day served as a dedicated platform that featured expert panels, strategic discussions, and interactive sessions to encourage collaboration and advance innovation.

According to Qatar News Agency, Secretary General at QRDI Council, Omar Al Ansari, emphasized the significance of Innovation Day in driving Qatar's innovation agenda forward. He noted the event's focus on the role of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in shaping the future of industries and economies globally. Al Ansari expressed confidence that the insights gained and partnerships formed during the event would contribute significantly to a sustainable, innovation-driven future.

The event commenced with an opening address by Omar Al Ansari, who reflected on the relevance of last year's discussions on the ethics of innovation. His address set the tone for the day's conversations by underscoring innovation as an active, operational reality in the GCC region.

Al Ansari highlighted Qatar's commitment to advancing innovation through the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy. He described the QRDI Council as a strategic enabler and bridge, facilitating progress across various sectors rather than positioning itself as the sole hub of innovation.

Innovation Day included two breakout sessions: "AI IRL: From Innovation to Application" and "The Venture Capital Outlook." Participants engaged in meaningful dialogue and networking opportunities during these sessions. Key topics discussed included the future of biotech, with insights from James Flynn, Managing Partner at Deerfield, and practical applications of AI within the GCC region.

The session "Qatar - Realizing AI's Potential Today" explored the future of AI in the region, focusing on how Qatar's technology leaders are leveraging innovative applications to drive growth and connectivity. Innovation Day reflects QRDI Council's commitment to advancing Qatar's National Vision 2030 and its National Development Strategy by fostering collaboration, promoting advanced research, and exploring transformative technologies like AI and biotech.
