QSE Index Drops 0.07% at Start of Trading


Doha: The general index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) experienced a slight decline at the start of trading on Sunday, slipping by 7.04 points, or 0.07%, to settle at 10,608 points from its previous close.



According to Qatar News Agency, the QSE index saw gains in the Insurance sector, which rose by 0.48%, and the Consumer Goods and Services sector, which increased by 0.11%. Despite these gains, the index was primarily affected by declines in several other sectors. The Industrials and Banks and Financial Services sectors both decreased by 0.03%, while the Telecoms sector fell by 0.06%. Additionally, the Real Estate sector dropped by 0.10%, and the Transportation sector saw the most significant decline of 0.41%.



By 10:00 am, trading activity included a total of 28.106 million shares exchanged across 1,636 transactions, accumulating a total value of QR 53.769 million.
