QSE Index Experiences 0.31% Decline at Market Open

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index saw a decrease of 33.99 points or 0.31% at the start of Wednesday’s trading session, dropping to 10,787 points from the previous session’s close. This decline was largely influenced by losses observed across four significant sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Transportation sector experienced the most substantial decline, falling by 0.93%. This was followed by a decrease in the Banks and Financial Services sector by 0.53%, a 0.37% drop in Telecoms, and a 0.16% decline in Real Estate.

Conversely, some sectors managed to record gains. The Consumer Goods and Services sector rose by 0.48%, Industrials by 0.11%, and Insurance saw a slight increase of 0.02%.

By 10:00 am, the trading activity on QSE reported a turnover of QR 46.826 million. The session included the trading of 23.107 million shares across 2,914 transactions.
