QSE Index Rises by 70.17 Points at Start of Trading


Doha: The general index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) rose by 70.17 points, or 0.67%, at the start of trading on Thursday, reaching 10,548 points, compared to last closing, backed by gains in six sectors.



According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar Stock Exchange figures showed a positive performance in several sectors. The Transportation sector led with a 1.17% increase, followed by Banks and Financial Services at 0.95%, Insurance at 0.88%, Consumer Goods and Services at 0.35%, Real Estate at 0.23%, and Telecoms at 0.03%.



Conversely, the Industrials sector experienced a slight decline of 0.02%, contrasting with the upward trend of the other sectors.



By 10:00 am, trading activity was robust, with a total of 48.001 million shares exchanged in 3,474 transactions, reaching a value of QR 88.221 million.
