The General Authority for Roads (GAR) has carried out maintenance of roads used by pilgrim buses in Madinah just before the Hajj season.
The maintenance involved repairing 405 kilometers of pavement, painting 514 kilometers of roads, repairing 5 kilometers of expansion joints and installing 33,000 meters of metal barriers.
The works also included erecting 135 meters of concrete barriers, repairing and maintaining 36 intersections and installing 38 kilometers of fences. Moreover, 96 kilometers of roads were illuminated with both solar and conventional power.
The authority’s field teams are conducting regular inspection tours on Al-Hijrah highway and the roads leading to the northern borders of the Kingdom within the administrative boundaries of the Madinah region.
