Moscow: Russia and Ukraine both reported the downing of drones, amid the ongoing conflict between the two countries that began in February 2022.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 23 Ukrainian drones over several regions across the country. In contrast, Ukrainian authorities reported that their air defense forces successfully shot down 88 out of 140 drones launched by Russian forces against Ukraine overnight.
Since the beginning of the war, now in its third year, both countries have issued near-daily reports of intercepting attacks by the other side. These claims, however, remain unverified by independent sources due to the ongoing nature of the war which began on Feb. 24, 2022.
