Doha: Russia said it intercepted 25 Ukrainian drones over the Leningrad region overnight as the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which concludes on Saturday, was underway.
According to Qatar News Agency, Governor of Leningrad Oblast, Alexander Drozdenko, reported that air defense forces successfully shot down 25 drones and indicated that military operations were continuing in the area. This interception took place during a significant international event, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region.
In a separate statement, Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, communicated via Telegram that Russian air defenses intercepted eight Ukrainian drones that were headed toward Moscow early Saturday. This development underscores the ongoing conflict and the increased frequency of aerial engagements between the two nations.
