The kremlin: The Russian Presidency (Kremlin) issued a threat on Sunday that Russia would direct its nuclear arsenal toward Estonia if it embraced nukes aimed at Russia.
According to Qatar News Agency, spokesperson for the Russian Presidency, Dmitry Peskov, stressed that Russia would always do what it must to ensure its security, especially when it comes to nuclear deterrence issues.
If nuclear weapons were found in Estonia aimed at Russia, the Russian nuclear weapons would be directed at Estonian territories, as Estonia should understand that clearly, added Peskov.
He clarified that Estonia is pretty close to Russia, and Russia doesn't threaten it and doesn't threaten the rest of the European countries either.
Last week, Russian First Deputy Chief of the General Staff, General Sergei Rudskoy, said that NATO is actively reinforcing its coalition forces under the pretext of an allegedly inevitable military confrontation with Russia, and that the Russian General Staff is closely monitoring these developments and responding accordingly.
Rudskoy further pointed out that the alliance is working on modifying the mobilization system and expanding the production capacities of European defense industries, in addition to developing infrastructure in Eastern Europe to accelerate the transfer of troops and military equipment to the Russian borders.
