Russian Defence: 5,400 Ukrainian Soldiers Killed in Week

Russian Ministry of Defence announced that Russian forces killed 5,400 Ukrainian soldiers within a week, and conducted intensive strikes targeting intelligence sites, infrastructure at ports, drone production facilities, and weapon and fuel depots.

This came in a report issued by the Russian Ministry of Defence, summarizing their operations and the losses suffered by the Ukrainian army during the past week.

The report also said that a "MiG-29" aircraft and an "Mi-8" helicopter were shot down, 247 Ukrainian drones were destroyed, 49 missiles from rocket launchers, three guided bombs and an anti-radar missile were intercepted, and 27 tanks, 24 armored combat vehicles and 7 boats were destroyed.

The ministry revealed that since the start of the military operation, 467 aircraft, 248 helicopters, 6,540 drones, 436 anti-aircraft missile systems, 11,742 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,149 rocket launchers, 6,306 pieces of field artillery and mortars, and 12,840 military vehicles had been destroyed.

The Russian military operation in Ukraine has been ongoing since February 2022, with no clear signs of an end due to significant differences in the positions of the conflicting parties and the involvement of other international actors in the crisis.
