Riyadh: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met with Canadian counterpart Anita Anand, who is visiting Saudi Arabia, to discuss the latest regional and international developments and their impact on the region, as well as efforts to support stability and security.
According to Qatar News Agency, both sides urged Iran to immediately halt its attacks and adhere to international law, international humanitarian law, and the principles of good neighborliness. They emphasized the importance of Iran’s compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 2817, set to be implemented in 2026.
The two ministers affirmed the close cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Canada to enhance regional stability and protect civilians amid ongoing conflicts affecting the Gulf states and the Middle East. They stressed the need for concerted international efforts to reduce tensions, strengthen maritime and energy security, and safeguard vital infrastructure.
Furthermore, Prince Faisal and Minister Anand explored ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations in various fields. Priority areas highlighted included trade, investment, space, artificial intelligence, mining, tourism, education, and pharmaceutical industries, reflecting the dynamic and multifaceted partnership between the two nations.
